  one thing that sometimes works, for your own use, is to find a 
  newer release (distfile wise, from the main project page), bump
  that up in the makefile, do a make fetch, make makesum, and then
  see if it builds/works.  doesn't look like ipfm has a patches/ 
  dir, so that might not stand in your way.

  i think the closest granularity you'll be able to get with symon is 
  that it can monitor individual altq queues now (symon v2.71).
  otherwise, i think of labels on rules and pfctl -vsl.  you could 
  make a process to dump those into rrd files based on label name.
